Get to Know Us: Podcast Premiere Amelia Isabel O'Relly

Welcome to our first podcast. My name is Amelia and this is how to Breast cancer at thebreastcancerguide.com. For this — the first in our series of podcasts, we are going to keep it short and to the point and give you a bit of an overview about us, who we are, what we do, and why we feel it matters. And we'll also share what's coming up in the next episode of our podcast series.

So whether this is your first time getting to know us or you're already a loyal subscriber, I always like to start out with our intention. And it is this: our intention at thebreastcancerguide.com is to serve as the guide for all breast cancer patients, their loved ones and communities by providing easy to use tools, practices and stories that help you get started on the journey and importantly, sustain you along the way. We are your guide.

And as a breast cancer patient myself, for 2 1/2 years and almost 60 plus individual rounds of chemotherapy, I have personally found that the getting started part of the journey and the staying on track need to be easier to do and much, much better for the patient.

And that's where we come in.

And so, when you visit our site at thebreastcancerguide.com, you're stepping into a safe and informative space that is organized for your ease, into three main pillars, to lead you forward.

The first one is our Insights, in there we have thoughtfully created articles and blogs that offer tips and tools, and help you get started and importantly, help you stay on track successfully.

The second are the Rooms. We have 3 – breathing, beauty and being. The Rooms are intended to create an experience through practices and routines and shared stories. We invite you to virtually step into our breathing room and learn a bit more about the power of using your breath. Wander right over to our beauty room to refresh and gain some knowledge on beautifying your way. Or gather in the being room for some inspiration through storytelling and sharing, or just simply being with others virtually.

Third, we have the Humor pillar (perhaps my favorite). It's Counsuellama’s Corner where we shared true stories from the front lines of the journey to make you laugh, because sometimes that's all that's needed. And if you're wondering why the llama — get to know more by visiting Counsuellama’s Corner.

All of this leads us to The Breast Cancer Guide itself, which will be available in 2022, and especially for those of us who still very much like having a physical book in our hands. The Breast Cancer Guide is your manual (or for the sports fans out there…your playbook) that takes all of this rich content from the pillars and goes deeper to provide you with all of the practical and detailed pieces that you need to be successful in your cancer journey. Or…again…to help someone be successful in theirs.

We also have additional tools for our subscribers, which includes our monthly newsletter, additional toolkits and information from our partners…and all of these are additional insights and perspectives from reputable resources that we have gathered, just for you.

So, we also invite you to tune in to that next podcast episode where we're going to be joined by a couple of special guests and we are going to be talking about talking about cancer with loved ones. This is one of the hardest, in my opinion…psychological aspects of managing the cancer journey. Or helping someone manage theirs. It's how do you talk about the illness itself — so we do hope that you will tune in, to gain some additional perspective from the sharing of the stories of the folks that will join us for that series.

Thank you for listening today.

We encourage you to visit us at thebreastcancerguide.com and to support our work, so that we can continue to make great content available, to expand our range and increase our scope. And at the end of the day…to make the world a better place…even with cancer.

Until next time, I'm Amelia and this is how to Breast cancer at thebreastcancerguide.com.
